Turkey Lineup for Euro 2021

After completing the qualifications, as a runner-up in Group H (below France), Turkey EURO Squad will play against Italy, Wales, and Switzerland in order to advance to the elimination phase (Group A). 

The selector of the Turkish National Team, Senol Gunes, has announced the list of 30 players from which four names will be dropped by the beginning of the tournament. Many people will agree that Turkey has one of the most organized and well-balanced teams. 

The players which stand out as the best ones are Zeki Çelik (right-back of Lile), Merih Demiral (Centre-back of Juventus), Ozan Kabak (centre back of Liverpool), Çağlar Söyüncü (defender for Premier League club Leicester City) 

The midfield is led by Milan’s Hakan Chalhanoglu, but there are also great players like Yusuf Yazidji from Lille, Ozan Tufan from Fenerbahce, talented Orkan Kokcu from Feyenoord and very good Celta player Okay Yokuslu (he has been on loan at the WBA since January).

There’s also a great quality in the attack, but the greatest hope will be the experienced Burak Yilmaz, who has a great season behind him in the Lila jersey (17 goals and five assists). 

During the qualifications, Turkey has shown their fantastic form, especially in the friendly match against Azerbaijan (27th of May), Northern Ireland (31st of May), and Moldavia (3rd June). Selector Gunes says that Turkey is in fairly good form. 

“Jenk Tosun will not be with us. We have Khalil Dervisoglu who has shown himself well in the national team and in the Galatasaray jersey. There is also Kerem Turkoglu. Janner is a valuable player for us, especially in attack. He was important. in terms of desire and character, but we noticed that he has not provided the best games lately so we opted for Ridvan Yilmaz.More players could get the call but we opted for Ridvan.We have a large number of players available but these 30 Players like Nazir Sangare, Emre Kilinc, Emre Akbaba and Denis Turuc did not end up on the roster, but we had to make a decision.Some players could be sent home from camp.There are also players who came out of injury “That’s why we called Abdulkadir Omura.
