Hungary National Team EURO 2021 – All Important Information

Hungary National Team is excited to be a part of this major tournament and is hoping to surpass the superb achievement at the EURO 2016 when they finished top of the Group F. They won 2-0 against Austra, drew with Iceland and drew against Portugal. Many people thought that this success would improve their performance on the field in the matches that followed, however, that was not the case.

So far, they managed to lose against Andorra in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. They finished in 4th place in their group for the EURO 2021 qualifications. Hungary National Team have drawn into one of the toughest groups in the tournament, alongside France, Portugal, and Germany. Even though these three teams are considered to be the strongest ones this year, it wasn’t the case a couple of years ago.

During the qualifications in 2020, Hungary has shown an amazing performance on the field. They’ve only lost 1 out of 8 previous matches. They were even unbeaten in 9 games in march 2021.

For the upcoming major tournament, all eyes will be on Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi and centre-back Will Orban. They are considered to be one of the most experienced and the most stable players in the squad.

Football Manager of the Hungary National Team

Marco Rossi is the football manager of the Hungary National Team and the former player. The Italian was chosen to be the best manager of the Nemzeti Bajnokság I season, which is the league with the official name – OTP Bank Liga. This league is currently ranked 28th in Europe by the UEFA.

He was the coach of the Budapest Honved Club from 2012 until 2018, with the break between April 2014 and 7 February 2015. After that he started coaching Dunajska Streda club of Slovakia First League.

On June 19 2018, Rossi was announced as the new manager of the Hungary National Team, replacing the former coach Leekens. Marco Rossi was famous for winning the Hungarian title with Honved in 2017.

Tactics & Form of the Spain National Team for the EURO 2021

We believe that Marco Rossi will go with the proven tactic of 3-4-1-2 and 3-5-2 systems. The crucial thing is that the team has to be trusting in Nagy and centre-backs to maintain the strong defense against the strong opposition. They need to allow the wing-backs to provide the best possible support for the forwards and their attacks.

The Hungary National Team mustn’t fail in keeping the strong defensive block. As long as they are able to hold out against some of the biggest names of the opposing teams, such as Werner, Ronaldo, and Mbappe, in the group stages, they’ll have a realistic chance of overcoming the group stage.
