Spain EURO 2021 Lineup
Spanish selector, Luis Enrique, has announced the Spain EURO 2021 Squad for the UEFA European Championship. One of the most interesting facts about it is that Enrique didn’t include any of the Real Madrid players.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been left out of the squad. Even though coaches got the allowance of the 26 players for their Euro Squad, Luis Enrique only revealed 24 names so far, omitting Ramos.
On the other side, we can expect to see Premier League players Eric Garcia, who is Manchester City centre back and his team-mate Aymeric Laporte. Enrique stated that any decision he has made about Sergio Ramos would have been controversial and he’s not affected by the media at all.
He also said that excluding Ramos has nothing to do with inviting Laporte and the other players and that, whatever squad he choses, there will always be those who’ll resent it.
Nevertheless, Spain has got one of the strongest teams and highest chances in this competition. Spain will be competing in Group E, against Sweden, Poland, and Slovakia. Their first match in the tournament is scheduled on June 14 against Sweden at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville.
