In Chinese Poker, a standard deck includes 52 cards. A maximum of 4 players can play the game because each player receives 13 cards. Although 2 or 3 players can also play it, 4 hands of 13 cards are always dealt so that all the cards are used.

As there are no chips or betting, points are given for each hand with a value of each point agreed to at the start of the game. A player gets 1 point for every hand won, therefore 3 points for every deal. If a player wins all three hands in one round, he has ‘scooped’ his opponents. He also gets double the number of points.
