Benzema is back for EURO 2021
It’s official! Karim Benzema has made a huge comeback to French National Team after 6 years! This news was confirmed by the selector Didier Deshan at the official press conference on Tuesday. Benzema’s now one of the 26 players who will fight for the European Championship title!
Deshan has pointed out that he has made the decision to leave the past behind and invite him to join the team for the European competition. So far, Benzema has played 81 matches for his country and scored 27 goals. Nevertheless, since 2 scored goals against Armenia in 2015 and the famous scandal which is the result of his dismissal from the team, he hasn’t played for France ever since.
Although France is a champion even without his help, we couldn’t forget his amazing performance in the past: 33 years of amazing football, 29 scored goals, and 8 assists in no less than 45 matches this season.
On the list of France Squad for EURO are also Counde and Thuram, but there aren’t Martial and Camavinga. It will be a great challenge for Deshan to fit Benzema into the team along with Mbape and Griezman.
The list in relation to Russia does not include Nabil Fekir, Alfonso Areola, Blaise Matuidi, Stephen N’zonzi, Florent Tovan, Benjamin Mendi, Samuel Umtiti, Adil Rami, Jibril Sidibe …
Of course, the main goal of French National Team is to win the European Championship Title. With players like Mbape, Benzema, Pogba, Kante or Varane, that is more than feasible.
Don’t miss the match France vs Germany, which is scheduled for June 15!
