Football Manager of the North Macedonia National Team

Igor Angelovski is the former football player and the professional football manager of the North Macedonia National Team. During his football career, Angelovski achieved the biggest success winning the Macedonian Cup 2002-03. He played for Cementarnica, Publikum Celje, Skopje, and Srem football teams in the period from 1996 until 2009

In 2013 he was assigned as the manager of the Rabotnicki team. Two years later he became an assistant of the North Macedonia National Team, and the football manager some time later the same year.

He is best known for winning 2 Macedonian Cups with Rabotnicki FC. Under Angelovski, the North Macedonia National Team has managed to win 3 matches in the qualification cycle for the 2018 World Cup, which is the most since the qualifications back in 1998.

Although North Macedonia didn’t show itself in the best light in EURO 2016 qualifications, thanks to Angelovski was persistent and successful enough to secure the place for his team in the EURO 2021 Championship after 4 wins and 2 draws from 10 matches.

Tactics & Form of the North Macedonia Team for the EURO 2021

It’s clear that Igor Angelovski will, once again, use the 3-4-1-2 step-up for his team in the upcoming matches, since it turned out to be the best solution for the squad. He has experimented with the 4-4-2 and the 24-2-3-1 systems, but the 3-4-1-2 gave the best results.

With this system, Angelovski will make sure that his wing-backs Ristovski and Alioski won’t get pinned back in the field. The most important role for the protection of the opposing team to get forward will be Boban Nikolov and Arijan Ademi, central midfielder.
